What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
I get frustrated seeing players diving and going down like someone shot them; I would like to see yellow cards given for these theatrics. I also hate the moaning and whining from players as they contest and moan about every decision the ref makes. Crowding the ref, with players surrounding him seems to be used as a tactic by certain clubs. Again, I would like to see yellow cards for this form of dissent and make the captain the only player that the ref talks to. Then there's VAR!

I'd like to see more red cards brandished for certain cynical, vicious tackles, like Wan Bissaka's challenge on Antonio on Sunday, it was so cynical and crude yet he only got a yellow card for it, so essentially he got away with it. Put your hand in someone's face it's a red, but only a yellow if you almost cut someone in half or cause a serious injury.

Manuel.

Yep, bang on there. I heard a pundit say that because Wan Bassaka was'nt the last defender he was spared a red. Thats bollox, its no less a serious foul just because your mate is 5 yards ahead of you.

Blatant diving should be a straight red, its out and out cheating. And start giving pens for all the holding and wrestling when there is a corne/ free kick.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Billy - Yep, not a red because Antonio wouldn't have scored. Crazy.

I've never been that bothered about diving, I don't agree with it and it don't look good, but accepted it as part of the game a long time ago.

I've seen countless dives in recent weeks that have gone unpunished.

I'm a simple man. Get rid of VAR. That's all I want.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
I'd like a 'sin bin' for use somewhere between a yellow and a red (which can screw up the rest of a game for everyone).

If a player was sent to a sin bin for 5 or 10 minutes, both teams should then react with some urgency, that wouldn't then affect the whole of the rest of the match.

I hate the off side rule, hand ball rule and VAR. i really hate cheating players.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Bungo, if they had a sin bin then surely the team who are down to 10 men would just use delaying tactics until he's back on the pitch? Rather than creating urgency it could make the game more boring, with players feigning injury, passing backwards and sideways all the time, etc.

Very possible unless perhaps more and more of the time-wasters then joined their team mate in the sin bin?

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
- Scrap VAR

- players that are injured off the field and roll back on are booked

- goalkeepers given less protection from corners and goal kicks (De Gea at the weekend wasn't a foul)

- tackles rules loosened, too many times you see a fantastic tackle where the player gets the ball and man on follow through and its given as a foul. Think Emerson got booked earlier in season for a great tackle which wasnt a foul. Football has gone too soft

- Agree with dives, should be booked more. Also anyone going down with a ridiculous contact like Carvajal last night to try get Grealish sent off ...... Carvajal should be booked

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Rossal - A LOT more tackles gets let go by refs now, it was a new directive that come in a couple of seasons back. Have you really not noticed?

No, not at all. Still see tonnes of good old fashioned tackles being penalised. Tackling and in particular slide tackles are being phased out the game IMO

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Agree with OP - only captains to speak to ref unless invited. Refs to be miked (as per Rugby). Proper transparent timekeeping visible to all (again, per Rugby). Scrap VAR but retain pitchside monitor - maybe allowing an allocation of appeals/challenges to each team (see International Cricket) where monitor is viewed. Revert to older version of offside (i.e. daylight rule) - sick of decent goals being disallowed because a hand or eyebrow was offending.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Rossal - A lot more gets let go now, you need to pay more attention if you really haven't noticed.

Only captains being allowed to talk with the ref is actually a directive that come in a few years ago, but it's gone by the wayside somewhat.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
VAR has probably kept us up this season, we've been fucking lucky quite a few times. Handball rule is too open to idiots getting it wrong though.

I'd like to see the invisible forcefield around goalkeepers removed, any touch on those pricks and it's a foul somehow. Bollocks to that.

Manuel 11:48 Wed May 10
Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Rossal - You see it a lot now when a tackle goes in and everyone is expecting the ref to blow up but he waves play on, much to the fouled players amazement.

I'd like to see them put a stop to the time wasting shithousery, Brentford and Newcastle are cunts for it, anti football bollocks.

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
Not a rule change so much as it's obviously within the rules, but what exactly is the point of having the ball just touching the line of the quadrant when taking a corner.

Does that extra couple of inches actually make any difference?

I would like to see players who protest about a throw-in going against them when they clearly kicked it out be shown a yellow.

I'd happily see some retrospective cards dished out after a full review of the entire game by a panel of fans.

Open up to the whole stadium, the mics of the ref and VAR just as they do in rugby with their refs and TMO

In the interests of transparency

Re: What changes to the laws of the game would you like to see?
When its a goal kick the referee indicates which side of the box it is to be taken from.
Ball boy puts it down there and once all the defenders are out of the penalty area the keeper has 6 seconds to clear the ball or attackers can swarm and try and block the goal kick

INSTEAD OF THIS 30 SECOND DANCE WHERE THE DEFENDERS HOVER BEFORE BEING WAVED UPFIELD

* all the ATTACKERS are out of the penalty area
